Two horror films on one day.

We have Jennifer's Body and Paranormal Activity both released on the same day which can only mean one thing. it's the battle of the horror movies. Let's review the two's potential box office success.

Paranormal activity was a huge box office success that reminded me of the Blair Witch project days except this film had a much higher quality to it. Paranormal activity was a great horror film that resorted to the good old what you don't see is scarier than what you do see mentality. It performed spectacularly and the audiences all went crazy for this little gem. The asylum as usual made a mock buster because this film was such a success. it was a breath of fresh air from the usual torture porn shit that we had been force fed for the last decade.

Jennifer's Body was Diablo Cody's attempt at writing a high school horror film and a dark comedy at the same time. While it really didn't succeed critically or box office wise as most had hoped this film did give us a glimpse into an effort at creating an original horror film. Megan Fox was perfectly cast as Jennifer and actually got plenty of praise which was well deserved for her performance as demon Jennifer. However, the scene stealer was easily Amanda Seyfried who carried this film as a the homely friend of jennifer turned bad ass Demon hunter.
I enjoyed this film despite the obvious flaws, and I hope that Diablo Cody takes another shot at the horror genre, all she needs to learn how to do is blend the horror and comedy better than a teenager blending acne cream on his face.

I predict that Jennifer's Body will lose this week to Paranormal activity in DVD sales, but not rentals.

Sherlock holmes review

Well it appears that robert Downey Jr. is taking on another legendary character known as Sherlock Holmes. While he's easily entertaining I must admit that his character seemed slightly awkward when I first watched him mainly due to my knowledge of Sherlock Holmes books.

However needless to say that this film is easily the most entertaining and box office friendly version of this character. Guy Ritchie at least makes it interesting with decent quality and he didn't decide to Michael Bay this movie for a large profit over good quality.

This film has plenty of action, witty dialogue and good entertainment to keep the mood fun and the audience pleased. Robert Downey Jr. and Jude law have great chemistry as Holmes and Watson which makes it the best buddy action movie that isn't forced to have Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan in it.

Guy Ritchie has earned some well deserved box office gold, and mainstream blockbuster success.

A long hiatus

I apologize to anybody who hasn't viewed my blog in awhile due to the lack of postings, but i was on a long hiatus due to school and some work. I'm now managing my time better so that I'm able to report and slash all the movies in theaters and on DVD like I had originally promised to do in the first place.

A Horror movie remake makes the number two spot on worst movies of the decade.

Yes, we now have evidence that Hollywood must truely try to ignore the critics especially with the horror movie remake known as One Missed call which achieved the number two spot on the Rotten Tomatoes list of worst movies of the decade. It came in second with a 0% postive rating from the critics and jsut barely missed the worst movie which was Ballistic ecks vs. Sever. This out to show you why the American bastardizations of japanese horror movie remakes should end unless Gore Verbinski is directing.

Unfortunately we know that it will never end because it's Hollywood and they use whatever it takes to make a profit which is why the original Rec will never be shown in American theaters. the only thing that we'll see is Quarantine and now with the recent release of Rec @ we'll be seeing Quarantine 2 most likely.

Well at elast we now have a bar level as to how low remkes can go we should call it the Remake scale with the worst being One Missed call.

Trick R Treat review

Talk about an awesome halloween movie that was so underappreciated by the studio that it was released staright to DVD. We have one of the best horror movies in a decade and sadly half of the audience will not be able to experience it because of the morons in hollywood right now. seriously, how could a movie this good be on the shelf for so long? We have to sit through the same old remakes and Saw flicks or any film in the realm of torture porn yet we can't see a decent original concept. Well now we can. Besides Paranormal activity this is the best horror film out right now. This is a perfect halloween date movie and I'll just say that you should buy this film without any questions asked.

It stars Anna Paquin, and brian Cox in four intterconnecting stories that all happen during halloween, They're all equally creepy, funny and gorey in their own right. I don't wnat to spil any of the fun, so I'll keep my outh shut on what happens in each story, but it seems like they all have an interesting and delightfully dark twist at every climax.

I am highly impressed with the acting, visual style, and clearly artistic vision that went into this film and I hope we see more very soon when the graphic novel comes out.

Zombieland ravages the box office

It appears that zombies are finally in a good American movie as we have the movie known as Zombieland debuting at number one at the box office this weekend. Finally we have an awesome and gorey zombie comedy that isn't from the british and it only took an amateur director and screenwriter with an original idea to pull it off. It also finally gives Woody harrellson and Jesse Eisenberg some good box office gold. Semi Pro can nut up or shut up!

5 Exclusive stills of a Nightmare on elm street.

Where I've been.

I apologize to all my readers for why I haven't been on this blog as much. it' because I've been writing for www.dunkfilms.com, on orble because more people have actually been reading my work on that blog, and I was upset that nobody checked out this great site except for a few. I'm going to be publishing more on here to make up for my abscence, and I greatly regret my abscence from this blog, however, Orble is fine as well.

Anyway I'm going to begin posting reviews by this friday of such films as Trick R treat, Pandorum, and many more.

So please bear with me, I aplogize for my abscence.

A Nightmare on Elm street concept trailer

This was still well made though.

Trick R Treat Trailer.

The official new Nightmare on Elm Street trailer check it out!

I personally believe that this movie doesn't look nearly as good, but still better than most remakes and Jackie doesn't sound like Freddy, but hopefully the better cast will work, and this movie doesn't suck. You'll notice Katie Cassidy and the boy with Cancer from The Haunting in Connecticut are both in this film so the acting should be at least better than average. However, I'm not in favor of the whole guilty or innocent freddy it humanizes a monstrous psychopath which is what killed Leatherface.

check out www.dunkfilms.com

It's my other really awesome film blog that actually has some readers so please check it out, the reviews and rants are the most hilarious things you'll ever read. Dear God I sound desperate just advertising it oh well who doesn't.

Megan fox compares michael Bay to Hitler

Seriously, can this girl do anything more to hurt her career. Yeah she's got a reputation for being hot and every frat boy's wet dream, but does she really need to pull a Katherine Heigl and completely bash a person who made her successful. so what if michael bay isn't the most easily defendable person especially for the last Transformers and remaking and crapping on ever good horror film that's considered a classic. does he really deserve these insults from Megan Fox. Even though during the interview she actually was referencing him to just a control freak she didn't need to mention him as a Hitler like person.

So I guess we know who won't be starring in transformers 3 unless she learns to hold her tongue and keep her mouth shut. I notice many stars who probably had to listen to Bay, but they were cool about it.

Megan Fox really needs to pray that Jennifer's Body is a good movie or her career is screwed. She'll be the next straight to dVd or Download star right alongside Tara Reid.

Katie Cassidy needs more film roles

If anybody watched harper's island which was a damn good show they'd know that Katie Cassidy played Trish wellington. She died her hair darker and changed her usual cameo character completely in order to play this part. She did a great job of it too. The dudes will brag about her near nudity, but I was amazed by how strong of a character she was in the role.

I can't stress enough how glad I am that she is in the Nightmare on Elm Street remake because now we at least have an actress who's not an adult and established star that can act.

I can't wait for Jackie Earle haley's performance either so keep an eye out on both these stars going into the remake. Let's just pray that Platinum dunes doesn't screw this movie up.

Sorority Row is going to be a bust

Seriously if Hollywood is that desperate to release a clip displaying bad acting and only showcasing a movie based on it's nudity then they're in for a rude awakening. Seriously, the acting in the clip is almost bad porno acting, with a flash of a breast just to satisfy males into seeing the film. Oh yeah and it also featured a cheesy death sequence that could've been done by anyone in the 90's.

Then again what more were we possibly expecting from this film anyway an Oscar? no we were expecting entertainment, but this film looks like it will suck without a doubt especially if it had to be advertised for teenagers at the Teen choice awards who won't be able to see the movie because it will be R rated and the late night showings when their parents are home is usually past their bed times anyway.

Report of Halloween 3D on www.dunkfilms.com

Come check out the official report of Halloween 3D without Rob Zombie. This means that you can expect plenty of cheesy violence like the old Halloween rather than the new realistic violence that we've seen with the last two Rob Zombie films.

Hopefully, this Halloween is at least better than the sixth film known as the Curse of Michael Myers. This basically means that I have very little faith in this film.

Halloween 2 Trailer released with new leaked footage

This is the best trailer for Halloween 2. It actually makes this film lok better than I believe that most horror fans are predicting. The trailer is probably one of the more amazing trailers I've seen in awhile unfortunatelyMichael Meyers still looks like a homeless guy.

Disrtict 9 is an amazing film.

Everyone must see this human story about a man who is infected with DNA of an alien who changes his prejudice towards them. This film will honestly blow you away at how amazing it is. I've never seen a more amazing film come out this summer. When all the movies sucked this movie saved my expectations.

Thank you Peter Jackson for investing in quality commercial films ratehr than fling your money just to make a cheap buck in return. You're a true artist of film and will always have my respect in the film industry.

Bloody Disgusting sold out by promoting Twilight.

The horror community posted rants and comments on Bloody disgusting over their promoting or advertising of new Moon, the new tween tacular crap that we've been seeing on every major commercialised and mainstream disney channel show.

Why even advertise for a series that isn't even really horror, but a leech feeding off of a dying genre with more brainwashed fans than at a rap or Disney channel concert.

New fans don't remember the old classic films.

Sadly we live in a world where nobody pays attention the the original masterpieces. they believe that the remakes are the originals which shows their stupidity and why hollywood has continued to rape the horror genre of all creativity and originality.

Most film directors who are actually good at the genre are producers and are living off cult status of their original films while others simply change their styles or appear on masters of Horror because that is the only place Hollywood has for real talent is a short thirty minute episode on a television series.

Hopefully one day the good horror movies will all stop going straight to DVD like Trick or Treat.

Remaking The orphanage

Once again we have a sad case of Hollywood remaking a foreign art horror film that is unfortunately being remade into a Hollywood garbage remake. i was pissed enough when they announced a remake of Let the Right One In, but now the Orphanage.

When will the remakes end? Are we tired of seeing the same rehashed crap on screen for so long or are we just used to it and starting to crave more of these garbage remakes.

I know that people whine and throw hissy fits over it all the time, but nobody does anything about it, because the new horror fans with the intellect of a Hannah Montana fan are taking over the horror genre. They don't even remember the original masterpieces which is sad that this generation will herald rob Zombie as a legend for a series like halloween that he is destroying.

A perfect Getaway release date and the collector release date

Did Hollywood just completely screw up their chances of making money off these two movies by releasing them on the same dates of more likely to be successful films like Funny People and GI Joe the Rise of Cobra. These films might stand a chance, but they have a greater chance of fialing now because of the bad release dates.

If A Perfect getaway was released earlier when it was up against the likes of Bruno and Beth Cooper it might have been close to the top of the box office and the same goes for A Perfect getaway which would have likely have been more successful. This is why horror films are not doing as well at the box office. well at least one of the many reasons. We need better release dates so certain films can be more successful and have a critic's screening so it doesn't make it look like your company was trying to hide the fact that it's not a good movie. However, I believe that the collector will be a good movie from what I've read about it and seen clips about it.

A Perfect Getaway has potential to be moderately successful and at least the director has some box office success with Pitch black and is hopefully more experienced than other music video directors.

The Book of Eli trailer

This is the trailer for the brand new Gary Oldman and Denzel Washington action thriller The Book of Eli. Finally, Gary Oldman in a movie that could rid us of the bad taste left from the Unborn. Both of the star advertised this movie well at Comic con. Surprisingly I found that Gary Oldman entertained more than Denzel washington, then again gary Oldman is probably more entertaining he's just not used right by Hollywood.

Orphan review

This is a good horror movie. it's no Drag Me to hell, but it's still an incredibly creepy and gore filled creepy kid movie. You should only watch this film if you can handle a disturbing still born scene. If you can handle watching a kid hammer someone to death on screen and handle a great twist at the end.

The twist is actually a real twist not some lame remake twist, but a real twist that is actually scary like the Uninvited even though the movie was a remake. They made the story a little more original.

overall, I'd have to say that this movie is one of  the best scary movies this year besides the foreign straight to DVD films. It is a huge improvement for the director over the House of Wax. We finally have a creepy kid movie that doesn't involve demonic possession or exorcism.

Carriers trailer

Let's hope that this film is good too. I'm not sure about chris Pine in this movie, but hey Start Trek ended being good maybe captain Kirk can surprise me again with an astounding performance.

The Collector trailer

Let's hope that this film is good. It looks sadistic and bloody as horror should be. I believe this is a remake. If this is then let's hope Hollywood didn't screw it up.

Two new horror releases on the same day.

We have two horror movies being released on the same day. Now this will be a tricky situation for Hollywood and the studios. they have to consider which film is more popular than the other. It's the Halloween franchise vs. The Final destination franchise.

It's also 3D horror vs. two dimensional horror. The box office outcome will determine the horror that fan's really want to see. Do we want to see another bastardized remake of Micheal Myers or do we want to see creative deaths scenes and laugh out loud over the top gore in Final destination. It's also the careers of Rob Zombie vs. David Ellis.

Hopefully someone actually reads my blog and comments on this odd situation. I'd like to see what the community of horror has to say about these two movies.

Orphan is out this Friday

We have a horror film coming out this Friday that could either be really good or incredibly bad. This movie is known as Orphan. It's already gained unnecessary controversy fro a mild statement about loving people outside your family. This was enforced by the soccer moms in the united states.

What we need to hope for is that this film is a good scary kid movie. The remake of the Omen was average and The Unborn was absolute garbage to say the least. We have the fate of creepy kid movies left in the hands of the director of the House of Wax.

Hopefully Orphan is better than the House of Wax. We need a real disturbing film rather than a crappy comic horror movie that only relies on Paris Hilton's death as its main draw factor.

At least she's nowhere near this film.

Jennifer's Body trailer debuts

Jennifer's body has debuted and it looks like it will feature Megan Fox half naked, gore and more of that quirky writing that made Diablo Cody famous as a screenwriter.

You can view the unedited trailer on youtube or Bloodydisgusting right now, but your going to have to think about it the moment it starts playing. The question will be is this a cult classic or is it just going to really suck. It's hard to tell but it's easy to get skeptical about the quality when the film is simply aimed at marketing the hotness and potential nudity of Megan fox and her costar Amanda seyfried.

Perosnally, I think that this film might be nothing more than cheesy popcorn entertainment, with a bunch of random and annoying lines Juno style. That's how Diablo Cody rolls. What surprised me the most is that she didn't choose to direct this film. she had a chance, but decided to just write it. Diablo Cody is a well known horror fan so this surprised me when she turned the opportunity.

Well watch the trailer and judge for yourself.

New Dario Argento film Giallo

Bloody Disgusting.com has released a trailer for Giallo a new horror film from horror god Dario Argento. It's about Italian models who are being kidnapped and tortured and left for dead in public. The serial killer known as "Yellow" is said to be behind it and he's killing in plian sight.

It stars adrien Brody as the detecive on the case. Hopefully he's better in this than the Village. Damn You M. Night Shymalan, well now he' sdone bastardizing horror to bastardizing Nickelodean animes like Avatar the Last airbender so hopefully Brody is better in this.

Well the trailer looks pretty sick so check it out.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDxdtetSxOc

Orphan controversy

Apparently there is controversy over a line in Orphan where one of the characters complains about how hard it must be to love someone else who is not apart of the family. Well as usual the soccer moms united to force the film to reedit the line. Yes the smae soccer moms who brought the charge of racism against Resident Evil 5. Luckily the game survived because the movies blew.

I'm still exited for Orphan and I hope it will cause us to scream and run down the aisles and be treasured like a real horror film. A real horror film like Drag Me to hell. However my hopes are drastically down ever since I found out its being directed by the guy who gave us the House of Wax. Well at least the kid looks scary and not like some random homeless kid like in the Unborn.

Something is wrong with Estheer which means that we should be seeing blood and guts galore as well as some genuine scares. Scares that are worth the ticket prices unlike Bruno.

An American Werewolf in London remake

Well it appears that john Landis might finally get some of his lost popularity back. His career lost alot of heat after the Twilight zone accident and Innocent blood.

Now that Hollywood, has gotten tired of remaking zombie movies and basically any movie that foreign countries churn out it appears Hollywood is on to Werewolves. Yes that is right we have the werewolf genre return. After Cursed failed to impress as an original werewolf tale it appears that they are better off remade. I still don't see why they wouldn't just release Ginger Snaps in theaters, but Hollywood knows best according to Hollywood.

So we have a remake of The wolfman which actually looks good, where we have hairy Benicio Del Toro even hairier and hungry for bowels and intestines. this will be good if its kept as a horror film and doesn't have any hilarious jokes among its awesome visual effects. Basically the director should not make this film like Jurassic Park 3 which was his last effort.

Then we have the reame of An American Werewolf in London which has plenty of black humor amongst a good story and plenty of gore. The only problem I would have with a remake of this film is that CGI would take over rather than good makeup effects that made the original so iconic. If you want to see how CGI will screw this movie up just watch An American Werewolf in Paris.

Hopefully, at least with Landis as Executive producer we'll still have the fresh werewolf movie that was so iconic to the real horror fans of the classic horror movies.

Platinum Dunes to do A Nightmare on Elm Street remake

Apparently, it will be Micheal bay's production company doing the remake of Freddy Kreugar. Which means it is locked in the clutches of the company that botched so many remakes of our beloved horror movies.

Well let's see with Micheal bay we can look forward to cars, explosions and lots of over the top corny humor. How does any of that relate to Freddy Kreugar and the truth is that it doesn't. Even though bay promises us the old Freddy without any of his funny jokes as in all the Freddy movies after the first A Nightmare on Elm street. Let's hope that Bay understands what a serious and scary Freddy is.

I'm very happy to see Jackie Earle Haley as the main character because he can act and has proven that he can handle a variety of different performances. The kid who played the cancer boy in The haunting in Conneticut will be reprising Johnny depp's role so at least we have to roles filled with people who can actually act.

Wes craven is reportedly angry that the movie is being made without him on the credits. I'm sure we all agree with you Wes, but at least Wes has the rights to his other films so he can ensure that they aren't all flops.

If Bay tries to do this like what he did with Transformers 2 then the movie will fail. his track record on movies in the horror genre isn't very good either so let's see if he can produce a good one this time. I can't imagine when Micheal bay will loearn that dollars made don't completely reflect the quality made. We have until 2010 to find out.

After Dark horrorfest was overrated

This years festival could have been great, but it was sadly marred by ridiculous plot holes and once again demonstrated Horror as an extreme gore fest for cash and blood lusting cults rather than true art. Basically, if you want to see a third Butterfly Effect then see this horrorfest. If you want to see more gore without any purpose, then watch Autopsy.

Perkins 14 was voted on by the fans who literally chose who would be in the film and the studio gave the project to the director of last years craptacular Dark Ride. this film looked like it was shot by a teenager on too much sugar or something else.

The only saving graces of this horrorfest were the movies From Within, Broken and Dying breed. In broken, we saw lena headley in a good performance, with a film that was sadly underappreciated. Dying Breed was a better than average tale of canniblaism. From Within was everybody's nightmare, being stuck in the bible belt section of the world and being unable to explain why dark forces are forcing your followers to murder each other.

Seriosuly, we need horror films that showcase horror as true art rather than schlocky gore fests and overloaded with cheese, and sex. at least the acting was better than last years well most of it. Thank the lord that there was no Nightmare Man.

Drag me to hell # 10

We've got to save this movie. it's fallen to number 10 because nobody will give this film a chance and it is losing popularity fast. seriously this is an amazing movie. It was rated by critics as one of the best films of the year and the best horror film in two decades. It's an American classic. Sure it might be fun to watch guys survive a hangover but this one actually delivers cares. Instead of wasting your dough on another cheap horror movie. Spend it on one that actually delivers so Sam will actually make another horror masterpiece like this.

I'm so tired of watching people ignore great films like this just because it looks stupid when things that often look great end up sucking to a great end for example the last tow Pirates of the carribean movies.

I just took my mother to see Drag Me To hell

After I had viewed Drag Me to Hell by myself I took my mother to see the movie to see if she thought it was scary. My mother totally flipped out and nearly vomited after she saw the gypsies drool and the exploding eyeballs.

She glared at me and she said there is no way that this is PG-13. This has me thinking that Sam Raimi must have done such a good job that he made a PG-13 film that actually surpassed the normal standers of PG-13 horror nostalgia. If people fear this movie more because its actually scary than it means that we need all horror movies to be made this way. Sam Raimi proved that you can still make a PG-13 movie scary and actually a good movie at the same time.

I agree with most critics when they say that all horror remakes should be rated R rather than pg-13 and they're right. Especially if the original was rated R. If the film can't match the terror or the gore of the original than the film shouldn't even bother being released. Now, some remakes shouldn't be touched at all like Day of The Dead unless its directed by Zach Snyder. The remake with Nick cannon went straight to DVD, but at least it had some good gore and wasn't PG-13. However they should've expected this when they cast Nick Cannon in the first place.

Luckily we have a director who can make PG-13 horror surreal and intense without adding the old horror movie cliches. You could tell that this film was mostly all Raimi. I'm still wondering why this isn't Evil Dead 4 though.

Moon review

This film what I am Legend should have been. Watching Sam Rockwell talk to himself and freak out while questioning his sanity is amazing. What an actor! Props to Duncan Jones for directing this masterpiece which is destined to be loved by science fiction fans for years to come. There is nobody better to play the voice of a monotonous possibly evil computer than Kevin Spacey. This film is not necessarily horror but it feels like one especially considering the fact that it tears at your mind and heart strings like Freddy Kruegar's claws.

I have to give credit to Duncan Jones for pulling this film off for his debut film. It is well directed and written with the suspense and tension messing with your head like a rogue psychiatrist. The ending will also leave you on the edge of your seat.

Everyone see this film at a local theater even, if its a distance see it. It's better than John Travolta screaming and swearing in the taking of Pelham 123, another remake, and Imagine That, another eddie Murphy attempt to make alot of dough of the family genre. When you think about Imagine That being a great movie just remember its only your imagination. However if Imagine That was a good film, just Imagine That.

After Dark Horrorfest

In the upcoming days I shall be uploading reviews of the recent after dark Horrorfest films. these films include the sickest psychos and the gory films that theaters were to scared to show up on their big screens so they sent them to a place where you can get away with showing anything. That place is straight to DVD. this year we had a change in the fact that there was no Tiffany Shepis. We had more cameos from stars of past horror films like leigh Whannel and Lena Headley, and even another sequel to the Butterfly Effect without Ashton Kutcher.

i'll be reviewing these hardcore horror films one by one like Harpers Island, which is a good show so I'm encouraging everybody to watch it if you're a true disciple of all thigns horror. Let's just hope that the after dark Horror films are more thna just low budget B movies like Nightmare Man.

Who should direct the Hellraiser remake.

After the directors of Martyrs and inside left the Hellraiser remake, I was highly disappointed because we lost two directors who actually knew what they were doing when it came to horror movies. The directors knew how to make the film atmospheric and they knew how to portray graphic horror and terror on the screen that made a deep impression on the audience. The most important factor was that we really cared about the characters in the movies. We felt their pain and suffering and emotion as they were tormented by evil forces that were not demonic and ghostly but were simply human cruelty.

If they could make humans seem so strong, helpless and morally evil just imagine what they could have done with the Cenobites and the evil Julia in the Hellraiser remake. So now we are left with another dilemma. Who's going to direct it and write it, and when is it going to be made? It's more delayed than a Delta airlines flight to Los Angeles. We've already had enough bad news like Microsoft suing Sony and delaying the release of two major games for a year. we don't need any more of our favorite cult like movies or games delayed. We need Hellraiser like Nicole Ritchie needs seven pounds.

Now if I had a choice as to who would direct the hellraiser movies it would probably be Takashi Miike but if he actually did direct this film it would probably never be allowed in theaters so he's off the list. We could get David cronenberg one of the best directors out there who can blend genres and the horror and eroticism needed for Hellraiser. Cronenberg can also do gore effects and hopefully use make up effects rather than CGI to give hellraiser its original feel. I would not pick Eli Roth to direct but at least we'd know the film would be R if he did direct it. The last and my personal pick would be Guillermo Del Toro. If he has no studio interference than his film would be another Pan's Labyrinth. I shouldn't have to describe it any better.

The Film Lord is gone

The Film lord is officially dead and Gone like the new song on the radio. Since nobody was viewing that blog I decided to delete it. Now I can focus my blog on scary movies which is my favorite genre of movies and entertainment.

Hellraiser Remake

It seems rather troubling that nobody can find a good director to remake Hellraiser. A movie that should have been in development ages ago has finally begun its latest stage of procrastination. Pascal Laguier, the director of martyrs has left the project and he's not the only one. Apparently the director of the other straight to DVD masterpiece Inside had also been signed on the project and then he quickly signed off due to creative differences.

With two good choices down and a hyped about project quickly going down the tubes it seems that we may never see our beloved Hellraiser brought back to life on the big scree. The worst possiblity is that the studio will try to pull off a PG-13 hellraiser, which would shun every fan who had once respected this genre away forever. let's hope hollywood has learned better and won't do another PG-13 Japanese horror remake.

If I had to choose a director to direct Hellraiser it would be a director with a solid reputation. It doens't have to be a Speilberg or Scorcese although that could be interesting. We need a director who has proven himself in the genre who can actually make the audience care about the characters, make the plot coherant, and for God's sake have some damn dialogue that doesn't look like it's been written by someone from NBC or MTV and we should be fine.

My suggestion would be David Cronenberg or even Neil Marshall. At least they can make a well received film for critics and Audiences.

Let the right one In remake

I'm in the middle of utter hysteria and amazement as i wonder why on Earth Hollywood is remaking this film. Then when I see the Quarantine movie my amazement goes away and I realize that Hollywood has found a new goal to Americanize every horror film made just to claim it as their own . Boy this sure resembles the England we know during the American Revolution a giant octopus putting its tentacles on every state that it can find except those that are too hostile or movie wise controversial.

They hired matt Reeves to remake this and htough I respect him for directing Cloverfield, he had J.J. Abrahams to assist him and that was a giant monster destroying a city with drunken teenagers running for their lives and I can't help but wonder what that has to do with a story about two 12 years old loners and one happens to be a vampire.

I'm honestly being sickened by Hollywood and their inability to allow original horror movies to remain intact without bastardizing them to the biter end as we've seen with almsot every remake of a japanese horror movie. I don't understand how Hollywood can greenlight recycled horror films and send original horror film straight to DVD.

Film Slasher

Get ready to get slashed because the film slasher has arrived with millions of your favorite horror films and previews at your service.

As you know it seems today that Hollywood just can't make a good horror film unless it's already been made in some other country. Well i say we can do alot better and I bet Sam Raimi would agree after all Drag Me To Hell was amazing in it's ability to scare the hell out of its audience and then make them roll to the floors in gut busting laughter.

When we see horror movies we expect to be entertained by quality horror films rather than some boring chicks from the CW or MTV screaming and running around waiting to be slayed by a horror villain in desperate need of a better movie than he's stuck with right now. if we don't care about the characters than how are we supposed to care about the movie. Well we already care about the genre and thats why we're speaking up. We are tired of seeing our genre hacked up and left to waste while other genres that don't even require creativity and twisted imagination that our beloved horror genre requires from its brightest minds.

So if anyone still respects horror movies then your going to love to tune into every blog I write just to see if our beloved genre has been saved yet.
